History - MMW Launch 1989

Making
Music Work launch 1989
In 1989, we launched Making Music
Work with Tom Robinson and Lindisfarne. Many of the musicians we
worked with back then still have a close association with us and
have become part of Northern Recording’s extended family –
including Ian McCallum, Libby Davison, Bren Laidler, Lynn Sales,
Graham Wood, Brendan Healy, Mike Elliott and Rod Sinclair.
The Decade Waltz
The Decade Waltz project was a week long festival organised to mark
the 10th anniversary of the closure of Consett’s steelworks.
We also recorded an album of the same name with many of the musicians
in town for the event. This included a great version of “Maggie’s
Farm” from Alan Hull and Glasgow’s Blue Grass Katz and
a celtic version of “Good Morning Britain” from Ian
McCallum, Libby Davison and Troy
Donockly.
