August Bank Holiday-out
The annual Allensford Festival on
August Bank Holiday Monday has always been a hugely popular event,
with thousands of people descending on the quiet riverside for an
afternoon of great live music. Previous line-ups have included the
Balham Alligators, Jack The Lad, the Oyster Band and Bobby Valentino,
along with some of the many excellent bands from around the region.
In 1999, Lindisfarne played to an audience in excess of 8,000. The
event was postponed in 2001 because of the Foot and Mouth crisis.
