Live Music - Allensford Festival

Allensford Crowd
Northern Recording set up the event in 1992 when
local western swing band 'Howlin at the Moon' played to 200 people
and kicked off what was to become one of the major dates in the
region’s musical calendar. Ten years later over 8,000 people
from all over the country come to soak up Allenford’s special
ambience and enjoy the cream of North East talent.
Allensford provides a heady cocktail of good time
music from Celtic rock and Cajun to ska, tex mex and rockabilly.
Previous line ups have featured bands as diverse as veteran rocker
Freddy “Fingers” Lee, folk rock legends Lindisfarne
and Geordie R&B heroes The Junco Partners, playing alongside
national and international “roots” acts such as The
Oyster Band, Abdul Tee Jay and The Balham Alligators.
The Bank Holiday Monday festival is organised
by Northern Recording, in association with Derwentside District
and Durham County Council.
